Overview

AI Studio Side Panel is a Chrome extension that allows users to send selected text from any webpage to AI assistants (Google AI Studio, Gemini, Kimi, DeepSeek, etc.) via Chrome's Side Panel. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about what data we collect and how it's used.

Data We Collect

Website Content

The extension reads only the text that you explicitly select when you click the extension button. This selected text is:

Used temporarily to populate the AI assistant's input field
Never stored by our extension
Never transmitted to any server other than the AI service you choose to use
Deleted from memory once sent to the AI assistant

User Preferences

We store your extension settings locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:

Default AI assistant preference
Auto-submit setting
Custom prompt prefix
Append/replace mode preference

This data never leaves your device and is used only to remember your preferences.

Data We Don't Collect

We do NOT collect:

❌ Personally identifiable information (name, email, address, etc.)
❌ Health information
❌ Financial or payment information
❌ Authentication information (passwords, credentials)
❌ Personal communications (emails, messages)

How Your Data is Used

The only data that leaves your device is:

Selected text → Sent to the AI assistant you choose (Google, Kimi, DeepSeek, etc.)
Exported conversations → Downloaded as a Markdown file to your device when you click the export button

We do not sell your data to any third parties
We do not transfer your data for purposes unrelated to the extension's functionality
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any commercial purposes
